The first Mobility of our Erasmus+ Project STEAMing Ahead For A Greener Earth took place in Agramunt, Spain. Our students, along with peers from Özel Haliç Etap Okulları from Istanbul in Türkiye, were the guests of Misioneras de la Inmaculada Concepción in the town of Agramunt.

Throughout the week, our students explored the Catalan region and its rich culture alongside our partner schools.

During the mobility we had the opportunity to:

  • Play traditional Catalan sports and games,
  • Work in international teams experiencing cultural diversity,
  • Take part in practical workshops on sustainability, recycling, reducing, and reusing,
  • Plant herbs, flowers, and shrubs in the school garden while analyzing the role of flora in ecosystem and climate balance,
  • Highlight the vital role of women in science,
  • Ride the Cremallera rack railway to the mountain sanctuary of Montserrat,
  • Explore the Parc Eòlic Rubió wind farm and study renewable wind energy,
  • Visit Catalunya en Miniatura and admire scale models of Catalan landmarks,
  • Tour Barcelona, including world-famous heritage sites such as the Sagrada Família and Park Güell.

It was an intensive week filled with discovery and experiential learning. We look forward to hosting our Project Partners in Poland in May.

Student Exchange in Türkiye: 21st–25th September 2026

Our final project mobility took place at Özel Haliç Etap Okulları in Istanbul, Türkiye, bringing together students for an inspiring week of learning, discovery, and friendship.

During our visit, we experienced daily school life in Istanbul, played traditional games, built lasting friendships, and discovered creative ways to communicate and collaborate across four different languages: Turkish, Spanish, Catalan, and Polish.

Sustainability & Nature

We visited Oda Yen Greenhouses, learning about modern greenhouse practices and sustainable agriculture. At the Waste Incineration & Energy Production Facility, students discovered how municipal waste can be transformed into clean energy. At the Atatürk Arboretum, we explored Türkiye’s rich biodiversity and took part in an educational photography competition.

History & Culture

We explored Eyüpsultan, Beyoğlu, Karaköy, and Taksim Square, immersing ourselves in Istanbul’s vibrant atmosphere and cultural heritage. We also visited Topkapı Palace, Hagia Sophia, the Basilica Cistern, the Blue Mosque, and Miniatürk, discovering the city’s fascinating history and diverse cultural traditions.

Creativity & Learning by Doing

Students took part in a traditional toy design workshop, handcrafting their own toys while discovering Turkish folk customs and artisan techniques.

It was a memorable final mobility filled with experiential learning beyond the classroom, intercultural discovery, teamwork, sustainability, and lasting international friendships.
